Personal Artistic Statement
In my twenties, while studying art history and design, I encountered endless academic debates about defining art that seemed to have no objective resolution. It was Karen Montanaro at the Celebration Barn who offered clarity amid this confusion. She simply said that art is that feeling when something—a song, a painting, a performance—moves us deeply in a way that's impossible to articulate, a feeling that every human knows and can relate to.

This definition continues to resonate with me and seems to be more just than any other. I have deep fascination for the universal nature it grants to artistic experience. Moreover, I am certain that every human being is in continuous pursuit of that universal feeling, that space of knowing before words.

I am confident that when I myself inhibit that universal space, others are transported to a similar place within themselves, like glimpses of an old memory coming to life. In this space, I experience a deep sense of unity and that is what I strive to bring with me on stage.
